Graveyard Dip

Graveyard Dip

Layered hummus topped with Oreo dirt, cream cheese tombstones, and pretzel crosses — a spooky Halloween centerpiece.

⏱ 20 minServes 620 min prep0

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups store-bought or homemade hummus
  • 6 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 10 Oreo cookies, finely crushed
  • 16 pretzel sticks
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

Steps

  1. 1

    1. Beat cream cheese, sour cream, and garlic powder together until smooth; transfer to a piping bag or zip-lock bag with a corner snipped off.

  2. 2

    2. Spread hummus evenly across the bottom of a shallow terracotta or ceramic serving dish, drizzle with olive oil, and dust with smoked paprika.

  3. 3

    3. Scatter the crushed Oreo crumbs over the entire surface of the hummus to form the 'soil' layer.

  4. 4

    4. Pipe small rectangular cream cheese mounds upright into the dip to resemble tombstones, pressing them gently so they stand.

  5. 5

    5. Cross two pretzel sticks at the base of each tombstone, pressing them lightly into the dip to anchor them.

  6. 6

    6. Sprinkle parsley around the edges for a mossy effect and serve immediately with pita chips or vegetables.
