Creamy white bean dip topped with a dramatic black olive spiderweb — a striking autumn appetizer.
1. Blend the cannellini beans, garlic, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, cumin, paprika, and salt in a food processor until very smooth, adding warm water one tablespoon at a time until the dip is creamy and spreadable.
2. Blitz the black olives with a small drizzle of olive oil in a mini blender or food processor until you have a smooth, glossy black paste — add a few drops of water if needed.
3. Spoon the white bean dip into a shallow serving bowl and smooth the surface flat with the back of a spoon.
4. Transfer the black olive paste into a small piping bag or a zip-lock bag with a tiny corner snipped off, then pipe a small circle in the center and 3-4 concentric rings outward over the white dip.
5. Use a toothpick or skewer to drag lines from the center outward through the rings at even intervals, creating the spiderweb pattern.
6. Warm the bowl briefly by setting it over a pot of just-boiled water for 1-2 minutes before serving so wisps of steam curl from the surface.
