A spread built for slow mornings — silky whipped cream cheese, cold smoked salmon, and all the fixings.
1. Beat the cream cheese and sour cream together with a hand mixer or wooden spoon for 2–3 minutes until light, fluffy, and billowy.
2. Fold in the chopped dill and lemon zest, then season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Transfer to a small bowl.
3. Arrange the toasted bagel halves on a large wooden serving board, leaving space in the centre for the bowl of whipped cream cheese.
4. Lay the smoked salmon slices in loose folds alongside the bagels, then scatter the sliced red onion and capers in small clusters around the board.
5. Tuck in fresh dill sprigs and lemon wedges at the edges, and place the bowl of whipped cream cheese in the centre with a spoon ready for scooping.
6. Season the salmon lightly with flaky salt and cracked pepper just before serving.
