Spider Web Dip

Spider Web Dip

A creamy white bean dip decorated with a dark chocolate swirl — eerie enough for Halloween, good enough to eat plain.

⏱ 20 minServes 415 min prep5 min cook

Ingredients

  • 1 can (400g) white cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
  • 3 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 3 tablespoons dark chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

Steps

  1. 1

    1. Combine the drained beans, cream cheese, sour cream, lemon juice, garlic, tahini, salt, and white pepper in a food processor and blend for 2–3 minutes until completely smooth and velvety.

  2. 2

    2. Taste and adjust seasoning, then spread the dip into a shallow bowl, smoothing the top with the back of a spoon.

  3. 3

    3. Melt the dark chocolate chips with the coconut oil in a small bowl over a pot of simmering water, stirring until glossy and fluid.

  4. 4

    4. Transfer the melted chocolate to a small piping bag or a zip-lock bag with a tiny corner snipped off.

  5. 5

    5. Pipe concentric circles of chocolate over the surface of the dip, then drag a toothpick from the center outward at regular intervals to create a spider web pattern.

  6. 6

    6. Perch a plastic spider on the edge of the bowl and serve immediately with crackers or sliced vegetables.
