⏱ 1 hr 20 minServes 820 min prep1 hr cook

Ingredients

  • 3 cups fresh or frozen blackberries
  • 1 cup black cherry juice
  • 2 cups cranberry juice
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup grenadine
  • 2 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 1 liter ginger ale or sparkling water, chilled
  • 1 lemon, peel twisted into spirals
  • 1 cup fresh blackberry slices
  • 10-12 gummy eyeball candies
  • 4-6 oz dry ice pellets, food-safe

Steps

  1. 1

    1. Blend the blackberries with a splash of black cherry juice until smooth, then strain through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher, discarding solids.

  2. 2

    2. Stir in the remaining black cherry juice, cranberry juice, lemon juice, grenadine, and sugar until the sugar fully dissolves.

  3. 3

    3. Refrigerate the base for at least one hour until thoroughly chilled.

  4. 4

    4. When ready to serve, pour the chilled base into a wide glass punch bowl, then gently pour in the ginger ale and stir once to combine.

  5. 5

    5. Float the blackberry slices, twisted lemon peels, and gummy eyeballs on the surface.

  6. 6

    6. Using tongs and heat-resistant gloves, carefully lower dry-ice pellets into the bowl just before serving; never let guests touch the dry ice directly.
