A deep crimson, layered cocktail punch with a sugared rim and dramatic pomegranate depth.
1. Spread the sugar and black lava salt mixture onto a small flat plate. Moisten the rim of each punch glass with a lemon wedge, then press into the sugar mixture to coat evenly.
2. Fill each rimmed glass with ice cubes, packing them snugly so the layers hold their definition.
3. Stir together the pomegranate juice, cranberry juice, vodka, and lemon juice in a pitcher until combined.
4. Pour the juice mixture slowly over the ice, filling each glass about three-quarters full, then gently top with a splash of ginger ale to add effervescence.
5. Drizzle grenadine slowly down the inside edge of the glass using the back of a spoon so it sinks and creates a layered dark-to-bright gradient.
6. Garnish each glass with a maraschino cherry on the rim and scatter fresh pomegranate seeds over the top before serving.
