A deep violet, citrus-spiked party punch that billows with dry-ice fog for dramatic effect.
1. Simmer the cinnamon stick, cloves, and star anise in the orange juice over low heat for 10 minutes, then strain and cool completely.
2. Brew a strong cup of butterfly pea flower tea, steep for 5 minutes, and let it cool; it will deepen the violet color when combined with acidic juices.
3. Combine the black cherry juice, blueberry pomegranate juice, grape juice, cooled spiced orange juice, butterfly pea tea, elderflower liqueur, and vodka in a large pitcher and stir well.
4. Transfer the mixture to a large cauldron-style punch bowl and float the orange slices on top.
5. Just before serving, pour in the chilled ginger beer and stir gently to preserve the fizz.
6. Using thick gloves, carefully lower chunks of food-grade dry ice into the bowl; never touch dry ice with bare skin, and ensure guests do not drink undissolved pieces.
