⏱ 20 minServes 820 min prep0

Ingredients

  • 1 can (16 oz) refried beans
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 cup guacamole, store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup sour cream, divided
  • 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning
  • 1 cup salsa, drained of excess liquid
  • 1½ cups shredded Mexican blend cheese
  • ½ cup pickled jalapeño slices
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup black olives, sliced
  • ½ cup cherry tomatoes, quartered
  • 1 tbsp sour cream in a piping bag or zip-lock bag (for web decoration)

Steps

  1. 1

    1. Stir the refried beans together with the cumin and chili powder until evenly combined, then spread the mixture in an even layer across the bottom of a wide, shallow ceramic plate or dish.

  2. 2

    2. Spread the guacamole evenly over the bean layer, then spoon the drained salsa over the guacamole.

  3. 3

    3. Mix most of the sour cream with the taco seasoning until smooth, then spread that seasoned layer over the salsa.

  4. 4

    4. Scatter the shredded cheese evenly over the surface, then top with the jalapeños, green onions, olives, and cherry tomatoes.

  5. 5

    5. To pipe the spiderweb, snip a small corner off the bag of plain sour cream and pipe concentric circles across the surface; drag a toothpick from the center outward at even intervals to pull the circles into a web pattern.

  6. 6

    6. Refrigerate for at least 20 minutes to let the layers set before serving alongside tortilla chips.
