⏱ 15 minServes 415 min prep0

Ingredients

  • 4 everything or plain bagels, sliced and toasted
  • 8 oz cold-smoked salmon (lox)
  • 8 oz plain cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons capers, drained
  • 1 small English cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 small red onion, thinly sliced into rings
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill fronds
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
  • Flaky sea salt and cracked black pepper to finish

Steps

  1. 1

    1. Toast the bagel halves until golden and slightly crisp on the cut side, then arrange them around a large wooden board or platter.

  2. 2

    2. Spoon the softened cream cheese into a small bowl or spread a generous layer directly onto several bagel halves as a starting point for guests.

  3. 3

    3. Drape the smoked salmon in loose folds across one section of the platter, leaving room for the other components.

  4. 4

    4. Arrange the cucumber slices and red onion rings in separate clusters on the board, then scatter the capers evenly over the salmon and cream cheese.

  5. 5

    5. Tuck the lemon wedges around the edges of the platter.

  6. 6

    6. Just before serving, scatter the fresh dill fronds over the entire arrangement and finish with a pinch of flaky salt and cracked black pepper.
